Continuing the Tradition of Success

I am passionate about servant leadership in the community that means so much to me. I believe in being engaged and present, and I actively seek opportunities above and beyond the "required" service so that I am equipped with first hand experience in our facilities and with our staff, students, and community stakeholders. 

My skill as a community networker and connector has been a tangible asset to our Board. In the past 4 years I have been a key part of several initiatives including the Allies for Education program, providing support for the Quaker Con intra-district professional conference, and connecting our administration and staff with additional resources in our community and beyond.

When I first joined the Board and learned that the previous provider of weekend nutrition for food insecure families had ceased their community outreach, I connected our administration with the local non-profit Gift Kindness who has consistently provided these nutrition boxes to all Plainfield elementary schools since, using the donations and volunteer support from our local community.

I have attended several continuing education conferences in order to have a better understanding of school leadership best practices, legislative changes, and the future of technology. I am regularly engaging in conversations with local economic development leaders, employers, and educators to better understand what skills and careers are needed in our evolving local workforce.

I am a 2023 recipient of the Indiana School Boards Association Commendable Service Award, and a 2024 recipient of the Indiana School Boards Association Exemplary Service Award, each a recognition of my additional voluntary service and commitments to continuing education for my role. 

I have served as the Plainfield School Board's Legislative Liaison for the past 4 years and I am a current appointee to the ISBA's Legislative Committee, comprised of 2 members from each region.
